The origin of our clothing
I carefully select and curate every second-hand or vintage piece to upcycle and rework. I love visiting both physical and online stores in fashion hubs like Madrid, London, Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam. My goal is to hunt the coolest items that fit Abdou Studio's distinctive rock, elegant, sexy, and unique aesthetic. Of course, I always make sure that all acquisitions are in impeccable condition and ready for handcrafted painting and customization at my studio.
Customization techniques
I employ a diverse range of premium materials: high-quality textile paints (Pébéo, Jacquard), heat transfer vinyl (Cricut Smart Vinyl Iron-On), and different hotfix crystal applications, among others. Each component undergoes expert heat-setting processes, guaranteeing longevity and resilience throughout regular wear and laundering.
Garment Care Guidelines
To ensure the longevity of your unique piece, I recommend following these care guidelines:
Handwash your garment in cold water, avoiding any agitation on the painted areas.
Utilize a handwash detergent designed for delicate fabrics and allow the garment to air dry.
In cases of wrinkling, gently iron the garment from the inside without the use of steam, paying special attention to avoid contact with painted areas.
How long does it take to create a custom piece?
The time it takes to create a custom design varies depending on each case. Handcrafting a garment involves many hours of work.
My standard delivery time is 4 weeks, so I recommend contacting me in advance so that I can have your design ready for the desired date.
Is there a physical place where I can find Abdou Studio pieces?
This is an online project with no physical store, but we do pop-up stores, creating ephemeral spaces worldwide for our community to meet experience the project firsthand. Our pop-ups are communicated through social media and newsletters.
